Gordon Quah-Smith I Principal Lawyer- Corporate / Commercial Law and Fundraising / Property

Gordon was admitted to practice in 1977 and has had extensive experience advising large international and local corporations including Nestle, McDonnell Douglas, Gestetner, IWL and Macquarie Bank. This experience covers a full range of transactions, across a broad range of industries including: Finance, IT, Pharmaceuticals, Agriculture and FMCG Food.

Additionally, Gordon has created structures and drafted documentation for a substantial number of innovative managed investment schemes, unit trusts and a listed prospectus offering

Gordon has worked on all stages of the equity capital raising process from negotiating and drafting shareholder agreements for consolidated businesses to meet stock exchange minimum revenue requirements, to negotiating and drawing underwriting arrangements and prospectus documents.

Gordon also has expertise and experience in other areas such as debt funding and securitisation transactions, real estate investment trusts and corporate governance. Gordon is currently an independent compliance committee member for fund manager Concise Asset Management Limited.

Gordon also offers contract fixed fee and retainer based, in-house legal and company secretarial services for small to medium sized companies, with a focus on those operating in the financial services sector. This service offering has proved particularly useful and cost effective to those companies which are new start-ups or have resolved to trim legal budgets.

He is a member of the Graduate Management Association; Australian Corporate Lawyers Association and the American Corporate Counsel Association.
